Dynamic movement whilst seated is proven by scientific literature as an important feature in chairs that can prevention back pain and discomfort associated with longer periods of sitting.    

A chair with dynamic back movement will offer the user greater comfort by allowing their body to move with the chair whilst seated.   This movement is distinct from the functionality that the chair mechanism provides.  

Chair mechanisms offer a variety of functionalities but can only perform 1 dimensional movement.   They therefore do not mimick the human body that is designed to move 3 dimensionally.

The backs of chairs having dynamic movement are categorised as 1, 2 or 3 dimensional movements.   1 dimensional movement is now becoming common place whilst there are few backs with 3 dimensional movement such as that offered by Therapod & Cpod Chairs.
